Lüthi leads the first day at the San Marino GP

Tom Lüthi starts the San Marino Grand Prix weekend strongly and finishes the first day in first place overall after two free practice sessions.

Tom Lüthi (P1 | 1’50.140):

It’s been a positive day for us, the rain helped a lot. When I went out in FP1 I already had a really good feeling in the first lap so the team work and the basic setup was working very well immediately from the beginning. I could get quite a good pace in FP1 and I could improve lap by lap my lap time, which was very positive. In FP2, we tried some more things and we had wet conditions again. There was even more water on the track than in FP1 so we tried something with the bike setup. We learned a lot and we understood a lot. If we get more wet conditions during the weekend or even on Sunday, because there is a chance of a wet race, it could be positive for us. Anyway, we keep on working even if it’s coming back dry conditions tomorrow, we have to keep pushing, working and try to go straight into Q2.
