Seventh row on the grid for Tom Lüthi in Doha

The strong wind marked today the qualifying session for the second Grand Prix of the season in Qatar. Tom Lüthi finished twenty-first.

Tom Lüthi had to go through Q1, where the difficult conditions and the strong gusts of wind registered today on the Qatari track have not allowed him to improve his lap time compared to the previous practice sessions. After this qualifying sessino, the Swiss will start from the seventh row of the grid in P21 with a time of 2'00.131.

The Moto2 race of the Grand Prix of Doha will take place tomorrow, Sunday 4th of April at 17:20h (local time).

(P21 |  2’00.131)

It’s disappointing. Not even reach to go to Q2 it’s hard because we were working well, we made steps forward but we cannot improve our lap time. This is a difficult situation. As I said, the feeling is better with the bike, I could do some steps and now I hope that with more time on the bike, like in the warm up and specially on the race, I can build up a better feeling with this pace we have now. It was a really good job from the team. It’s hard that I couldn’t put a good lap time. Tomorrow is a new day and we will keep on fighting and working hard on the bike to get a better result than last week.
