ValenciaGP: the last race for Tom Lüthi
One last practice, one last qualifying and one last race as a Moto2 rider. That's what Tom Lüthi awaits at the Valencia Grand Prix this coming weekend.
The Valencia Grand Prix will not only be the last race of the 2021 season - it will also be the "grand finale" of Tom Lüthi's active racing career. On the 4km Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Tom Lüthi will stand on the grid for the last time as a Moto2 rider this coming Sunday. A strange feeling for the Swiss - nevertheless, after 20 years of world championship experience, he does not doubt his decision at all.
Tom Lüthi:
It' s a special feeling, of course. A lot of people get in touch with me - not just the media, but also former teammates, paddock staff, the organizers, sponsors, fans and friends. With all the conversations, you realize that it's actually the very last race, and that's a strange feeling. Yet for me, the situation is still absolutely right, I fully stand behind my decision and, despite a bit of melancholy, I'm looking forward to the future and to everything that the new challenges will bring for me. But now it's time for one last time: give everything and enjoy the race!
