Starting position 24 for Tom Lüthi at the Algarve Grand Prix

The second day in the south of Portugal turned out to be a challenge for Tom Lüthi: the Swiss will start the race from 24th place after two intense sessions.

Chilly 17°C air temperature and a lot of wind greeted the riders of the Moto2 field today in Portimao, at the Algarve International Circuit. Tom Lüthi had high hopes after yesterday's analysis of FP1 and FP2 that the second day of the Algarve Grand Prix would bring him more improvement than Friday. However, despite a lot of work on the bike and adjustments to the technology, he was not able to significantly improve his lap times - he will therefore start from P24 and thus from the eighth row in the second last race of the season.

The Moto2 race will start tomorrow at 15:00 (CET).

Tom Lüthi (P24 | 1'43.617):

I'm not happy with today - I had hoped for more after we had really worked a lot on the bike. Now we have to use the warm up again tomorrow to try some last things and find a way to increase the pace for the race. Either way I'm looking forward to the race, the team is behind me, we're still looking for solutions and are top motivated!
