Tom Lüthi: 10th on the grid at the AustrianGP

Tom Lüthi not only makes it straight into Q2, but also qualifies for 10th place on tomorrow's starting grid.

Tom Lüthi and the SAG-Racing team are in a good mood after this Saturday of the second race weekend at the Red Bull Ring. Just as last week already, Tom Lüthi made the direct step into Q2 and thus created a good base for the qualifying. The feeling for the bike was apparently also very positive in the qualifying session in the afternoon, which took place at 32 ° C air and almost 40 ° C asphalt temperature. Tom Lüthi showed up in the front ranks already at the beginning of the Q2 session, however, he could not improve his position towards the end of the qualifying session. The Swiss will start tomorrow's race of the Austrian GP from P10.

Tom Lüthi (P10 | 1'29.283 | +0.624):

The whole weekend has been very positive so far. Already in the morning in the third free practice I found a good rhythm quite quickly. I was also able to improve my performance compared to last weekend here at the Red Bull Ring, I was much more consistent this weekend. I was able to build up a lot of confidence with the bike and myself yesterday and today, which is very important on this track with so many hard braking zones. Getting straight into Q2 was positive for qualifying, but also for us as a team - we're happy that things are finally looking up again and that we can keep improving. Qualifying was positive, but I only had one soft tire left for qualifying, so I was completely on the limit towards the end of the session. I couldn't improve in the last laps, which is why I dropped from 6th to 10th place. But still, we were able to make great progress over the entire weekend and if no unforeseen rain surprises us tomorrow, we are definitely ready for the race.
