Progress and a lot of learnings at the StyrianGP

Tom Lüthi was able to improve steadily over the entire weekend of the StyrianGP. After a turbulent start, he made up the lost places with a consistent performance and finished the race in 16th place.

The weekend at the Grand Prix of Styria was a marathon for Tom Lüthi: a summer flu had already troubled him in recent days, so he was physically hardly able to go to his personal limit. All the more pleasing was the direct step into Q2 on Saturday and the resulting 13th starting position. In today's race on Sunday, however, the Swiss had an unfortunate start and lost a few places in the hustle and bustle of the first corner. With a good rhythm he was able to make up some of these places and finally crossed the finish line in 16th position.

Tom Lüthi (P16 | +19.378):

The conditions were a little bit mixed today after the warm up. We planned to try some more things for the setup but we couldn’t because the track was wet. Then the race was nearly dry, because it was quite tricky with some lines dry and the rest was wet. Anyway, the focus was on the start and being in a good position because it was difficult to overtake. The opposite happened to me because I was squeezed between other riders and in turns 1 and 3 I lost too many positions and confidence as well. I couldn’t attack in the first laps, which was crucial today. I ended out of the points but we have another chance next weekend.
