Productive first test of the year for Tom Lüthi

Tom Lüthi concluded the first private test of the 2021 season in his new team-colors of the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team. The test took place at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia.

Despite the fact that the weather forecast was not very encouraging to be able to squeeze one hundred percent of the time on the track, Tom Lüthi has been able to take advantage of the two test days scheduled on the Valencian track. The Swiss rider did a total of 68 laps on Monday with a best time of 1.35.886. The conditions on the track today were not the most favorable and Lüthi did not go out until noon, ending the day with a total of 45 laps and a best time of 1.36.205.
The next test for the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team will take place next week at Circuito de Jerez.

#12 Tom Lüthi:

I was pretty surprised to have that much track time because the weather forecast was very bad for these two days testing. We were quite lucky to have that much track time. We could work quite well. It was nice to work with the crew together again after a long winter break. We could make some steps forward and was very interesting. The second day the conditions were a little bit special in the morning we had some kind of sand on the air and the track so we had to wait until the afternoon. We could still do some laps again in the second day and we could also continue our work. Overall, I think we can be so happy so far. We were not there with the lap time where we need to be on the race weekend but this is always a different story. I think it’s important to keep the focus on work step by step, finding good confidence. I think we are on the good way.
